It would be fair to say Fox News hasn't always covered itself in glory when reporting on all matters Middle East; the news channel has previously drawn criticism for its less than even handed coverage of the Iraq war. The channel has also had the odd struggle with accuracy. But, in the interest of providing my own fair and balanced reporting I'll let you make up your own mind over their latest lapse: an honest mistake or an insight into foreign policy ambitions?
Going back to the Middle East, which can be a tough area to pin down geographically. There are examples of border disputes - Israel/Palestine, Bahrain/Qatar, north/south Sudan, for example. However, the graphic Fox News used to illustrate the region to its viewers had one small problem: it showed Egypt where Iraq should be.
Has the war on terror evolved into a war on geography, or is it just a case of mistaken identity - all those Middle East countries look the same right? I mean, it's not as if Egypt is in Africa or anything.
