New Statesman announces new deputy editor

The New Statesman today announced Jon Bernstein, former multimedia editor of Channel 4 News, is to become the title’s new deputy editor.

Jon joined ITN in 2005 as editor of the Channel 4 FactCheck website. Prior to that he was editor-in-chief of the DirectGov website, a position he also held at silicon.com – where he helped launch the UK’s first online video news service, catering for the business and technology sector.

Oh… and he was also a founding blogger on TheMediaBlog.co.uk.
