It sounds cheap and nasty. No doubt that is the point as its founders are clearly aware of the ‘psychology of the unexpected’ (man bites dog) and it’s ability to sell newspapers.
As the Daily Mail, explains:
As one of the world's most prestigious seats of learning, you would expect Cambridge University students to be focused on dusty tomes and high-brow literature.Exactly! No doubt that is the very reason three students decided to launch the site, and exactly why it is getting so much coverage.
In and of itself, it’s a student rag, online.
It’s what it isn’t – “dusty and high brow” – that sets it apart.
A successful launch then? Helped no end I imagine by the ‘negative’ press surrounding it.
And I thought Cambridge lady students would be intelligent enough not to allow their body images to be exploited in this way?
If even the "brainy" Oxbridge girls can't match in common sense what they boast in IQ, what hope is there for the rest of the female race?
As a woman I feel utterly dismayed.
