If you ever needed proof the media and the public love a good 'man bites dog story' and a healthy dose of gossip, look no further than the changing level of interest in Tiger Woods which is almost off the scale at present.
It seems 'Golfer plays golf' is all a bit of a 'yawn-fest' compared to 'Golfer linked to string of affairs'.
If you look at the graph below, the top line shows internet searches for "Tiger Woods" while the bottom line shows news coverage relating to the gossip stricken club swinger. Should you be interested, points A and B on the chart related to when Woods won some golf tournament or other, the spike at the far right relates to recent allegations and revelations about his personal life.
It seems we're not fussed when Tiger plays a round... but when he plays around (allegedly, allegedly) we're all over it.
