TheMediaBlog's own variation on the meme chronicled Hitler's chagrin on missing the delivery of his favourite newspaper: the Daily Mail. And sure enough, the video has been removed with the message "This video contains content from Constantin film, who has blocked it on copyright grounds."
With so many parodied versions of Downfall in existence (and as Shane Richmond points out), it may be impossible for Constantin Film to block all of them. And like Rick Astley's record label getting sniffy about the use of his video in the Rickrolling trend, this news further highlights the widening gulf between the freedom of data online, and the often archaic laws of entertainment copyright.
