"SHE might be No 1 in the album charts for a second week..." begins a post about pop-singer Adele on the ooh-ah Daily Star's music blog. "But even super sales won't..." mean our picture editor knows who the hell she is.
To prove the point, here's a picture of rising pop sensation Jessie J, accompanying the post.
Shocking stuff.
As any fool knows (after a minute or two spent on Wikipedia), 22-year-old London-born singer-songwriter Jessie J is the BBC's Sound of 2011 and a graduate of the BRIT school of performing arts, whereas 22-year-old London-born singer-songwriter Adele was the BBC's Sound of 2008 and a graduate of the BRIT school of performing arts.
They couldn't be more different.
Apologists for this blunder may claim it is actually an apposite, near-Freudian comment on the over-farmed production line of generic talent that passes through the music charts in this post BRIT, post-X-Factor age.
But I think the Star just used the wrong picture.
