The Sun was doubtless delighted to happen upon this nonsense 'Exclusive' in the long, dragging, newsless days between Christmas and New Year... and now, better still they've got a ready-made follow-up:
What is perhaps also noteworthy about this story is that a 'true' Liverpool fan would have broken ranks with other Liverpool supporters who boycott of The Sun, to give the paper the exclusive on his - we can assume temporary - name change.

Still, spare a thought also for all of those Newcastle United fans turning over a new page on the club's official calendar this morning, wondering which of their star players will greet them and accompany them through February, only to be faced with the bouncing ponytail of Andy Carroll, a player who improbably joined Liverpool for £35m just a few short hours before the end of January.
