It seems the team at the West Sussex County Times were keenly observing the publicity generated by the Mid Sussex Times last week when journalists arrived at work to find their local Boots was a little late in opening. Because The West Sussex County Times has hit back with some inconsequential gonzo journalism of their own:
The article informs us:
"THE EDITOR of this newspaper was trapped in his office after the door handle broke this week..."
Was he locked in there over the whole weekend, perhaps surviving only on the contents of his bin and his own wee? No...
"Colleagues with more technical expertise who were in the room at the time quickly assisted in ensuring they all escaped."
And when they say "escaped", they really mean "walked out".
Editor Gary Shipton said: "Let's be honest it's not the worst trauma that can afflict anyone."
It's probably not even top three.
