It seems the Express wasn't the only newspaper to get its Dutch and British dressage teams mixed up. While it may not have used the image on its front page, the Mirror ran a pic of the happy Dutch team claiming it was Team GB, not once, but twice, including this huge centre spread, with their bright orange lapels and bronze medals there for all to see:
It seems the source of this gaffe may be a wrongly captioned photo from a picture agency which made it onto the pages of the Mirror and the Express unchecked.

Not excusing what happened but given that two papers were caught out, could it have been a caption error?

Oh dear. Poor Mirror, it means well.. although generally it doesn't. Hopefully we haven't made any gaffes in our little Olympic tribute:
